• Mesotrione, a potent herbicidal chemical, rapidly absorbs after application and begins to work, although it may take 2-3 weeks for complete weed elimination. Activation is dependent on water; if no rain falls within 10 days, apply 0.15 inches of water.
• Capable of targeting 46 types of broadleaf plants and grasses, Mesotrione is a highly versatile herbicide that can destroy a variety of weeds including Barnyard grass, Carpetweed, Chickweed, Clover, Crabgrass, and Dandelion.
• Recommended for Kentucky Bluegrass, Centipede grass, Buffalo grass, Tall Fescue, Perennial Ryegrass, Fine Fescue, and St. Augustine Grass (sod only). To avoid negative effects, do not apply Mesotrione on Bentgrass, Poa annua, kikuyugrass, zoysiagrass, seashore paspalum, or bermudagrass. Application on dormant bermudagrass is effective in eliminating weeds.
• Mesotrione blocks photosynthesis in susceptible plants, spreading throughout the plant via roots and leaves. As a powerful herbicide, it stops crabgrass seed germination and kills broadleaf weeds on contact while promoting the growth of certain cool-season turfgrass in a weed-free atmosphere.
